Question:

The reason for male gender?

If female gender can exist all on their own why did male gender exist in Nature.

I mean why can not two females of a hypothetical species copulate between themselves and maintain the continuum of its species. I vaguely remember of some species of sea-horse that work this way. Why is it not as common as one would expect, given such diversity in nature.

I think there is much more to having ubiquitous bisexual nature instead of asexual nature. What is it?

  1. You need genetic diversity, dude. That's why most species have sexual reproduction. Imagine if someone was allergic to water or a bee sting then they would continue to reproduce that same problem but with genders there is less of this factor.

  2. There are a couple of species that reproduce asexually. There are no male whiptailed lizards left. And, who knows, maybe there'll be more as evolution continues.

  3. Men exist to accomplish things--everything from the Sistine Chapel to space exploration.  And women exist to admire such accomplishments, which they should rightly honor as miracles of manly intelligence and will.

  4. Because approximately 300 million years ago the x and y diverged from a pair of identical chromosomes, and because recombination between X and Y proved harmful, sexual reproduction evolved. That's it.

EDIT-And your lack of knowledge of biology and evolution (or perhaps your DISBELIEF in it) has made you look for answers that are more complex than is necessary...or correct. The basic, fundamental answer is that we evolved that way, because it was beneficial to the species. Otherwise, we would have died out. If you do not believe this is true, then that that is your BELIEF, but your beliefs do not negate three billion years of evolution.

  5. The male s*x first appeared about one billion years ago in one-celled eukaryotic life forms, our ancestors.  Many theories about WHY s*x occurred include greater genetic complexity/ variation possibilities which strengthened sexed species by weaning out bad traits and reinforcing good traits.  Also, differentiation allowed for half of a species, the none egg producing half, male, to be expendable whilst the half with fertilized eggs might better survive.  That was the first "function" differentiation within animal species evolution, the first "gender" role, so to say.  Our species' family tree has been sexed (male / female) since then.

  6. Well we arent sea horses and they have a male and female species so what in the gravy filled h**l are you talking about?

Women have eggs yea but you cant combine eggs and make life. Same for sperm.

  7. There isnt a single mammal species that can change s*x....the very few species that can do this are reptilian, fish, and amphibians.  Which are all egg layers, live births are more complicated....requiring more parts..like a womb.

Are you asking why humans arnt A sexual?
