Question:

The reason why we dream

My therapist (for my ADD) lol told me that when we are sleeping more than 7 hours, we dream. After 6 or 7 hours, we go into a deep sleep, and that's when we dream. I've noticed that. sometimes I'll go to bed at 3. and wake up at 8. and nothing. at all.

Has anyone else heard of this?

  1. na! but thats so cool!

  2. I really can't answer that but my own personal belief is that we dream so we can have an imagine of our fantasies. Or at least thats what I've been experiencing lately.

  3. naw

  4. I can dream after only being asleep for a few minutes

  5. i think its different for everybody

also, lots of research says that we dream all the time, but you cant usually remember most of them, if you wake up in the right phase of sleep you wont even remember having any dreams at all...it probably means that you're sleeping very peacefully!

  6. I don't believe that, I dream at any time in my sleep, which for the most part is less than 5 or 6 hours

  7. That could be just a theory...I haven't noticed it for myself. But I think that that was interesting! Thanks. :)

  8. ok

  9. Yes.... you learn about dreams in Psychology 101 (College)

What happens is that you go into what is called REM (Rapid Eye Movement) where you are in deep sleep and it acquires more than once.. you may not always remember your dream  but you ALWAYS dream at night..

By the way..your dream is always your unconscious mind trying to tell you something...

Oh and another thing.. you know what's cool..you can actually control your dreams... my professor taught ushow to do it and I read my text book which said how some people do it.. and it works :)
