  1. Bettman's Brylcream mixed with a poly-resin hardener and telsun blue dandnruf control.

  2. No.  Actually it's pretty easy since it's hollow and made out of silver.

  3. filled with beer, put a lid on it and shook it, gas popped it right back into shape

  4. rachelle, all the rings on the cup are original. The cup and neck themselves are not original, that's true, but they are not in a bank vault in Montreal. They are in a vault in the Hockey hall of fame in Toronto, as are the rings that have been removed.

As for smoothing out, that's easy. The cup is hollow and made of silver, a pretty soft metal. They take off the wood base and take a small hammer to it. done.

  5. Negotiation and compromise.

  6. They used Pops-A-Dent....

And to smooth it out they used Crosby's... never-mind.

  7. Oil of Olay

  8. Hi, T'was "tapped" out by silversmith's small hammers...   And this one you won't believe, but what you see "carted / totted" around from place to place is only a replica of the ORIGINAL Stanley Cup...   The original is far too precious to have  out in public like it is....

I'm originally from Montreal where the Original one is housed in a bank vault... And only one lady engraves all the names on the various "bands" that surround the various tiers..

I could tell you a ton of history of the Stanley cup, of how it ended up in the Ottawa River, was once left on the top of an automobile, and after than, when it get back into the proper hands, a replica was made to ensure the safety of the original...   All true and factual...   Rachelle_InHighHeels
