  1. it's fine to use the salted butter.  just make sure you omit the salt from the rest of the recipe

  2. Yes.  I only buy salted butter, b/c we use it at the table, too, and I don't want to have to keep them separate.

For baking, just cut back on the salt by 1/4 tsp of you want to get real technical about it, b/c that's how much salt is in 1 stick of butter.  But honestly, I never bother.  Salt enhances sweet baked goods, and 1/4 tsp one way or the other won't amount to a hill of beans.

  3. NO!  The salt crystalizes and makes the cake taste very salty even if you didn't put in all that much salt.  DO NOT use the salted butter it WILL ruin your cake!

  4. It will work fine and no need to take out any salt you add.  I do it all the time!

If there is added salt, you have to put that in or it won't rise properly.  It will not harm the taste.

  5. just decrease the salt in the recipe like the other said. theb ig thing that using salted butter is a no no for is in things like candies and pan frying. the reason being that salt changes the tempurature at which butter will burn and can and probably will ruin the recipe. but a cake, cookies, brownies and other baked goods will be just fine.

  6. Yes it will be fine.

  7. yes, just leave out the salt in your recipe.  I don't use unsalted butter, and all of mine turn out fine.

  8. I don't ever buy or use salted butter.  Brands vary dramatically and some are way saltier than others so if you do use the salted butter then leave the salt out in your cake or it could come out way too salty.

  9. Sure...its no problem. Just omit any additional salt the recipe calls for. Actually sweet food tasted better with a dash of salt. It gives a nice balance so its not too sickeningly sweet.

  10. It really isn't much a difference,anyway you make it,it'll still have a great taste to it.good luck.dont burn nothing.bye

  11. It should work fine.  I try not to use unsalted butter because it tastes bad in everything but cooking (you can't just use it on your toast!).  Good luck with the cake.
