  1. Find it in windows explorer and drag it back onto your desktop.

  2. 1. Right click the Vista Desktop

    2. Click on Personalize

    3. Select: 'Change desktop icons 'left side panel

put check mark in box recycle bin

  3. How, did you remove it without knowing how to get it back?

you have to edit a registry value to remove the recycling bin, so if you didn't do it, run spyware/ antivirus quickly.

If you did though, then go to http://www.tweakxp.com/article36805.aspx it tells you how to enable/disable it.

  4. XP:

    1. Right-click an empty area of your desktop

    2. Select Properties

    3. Click the Desktop tab

    4. Click the Customize button

    5. Click Restore Default

    6. Exit all windows and restart your computer

    Vista:

    1. Right click the Vista Desktop

    2. Click on Personalize

    3. Select: 'Change desktop icons'

    4. At the Desktop Icon Settings, place a tick next to: 'Recycle Bin'.

  5. as in you've deleted it? i don't know how to work on that since its recycle bin(you can't restore). its not even a shortcut icon (which means you probably deleted the bin itself.

are you using vista? then go here:

    http://www.computerperformance.co.uk/vis...

    in either xp or vista:

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/810869

If neither of this work, here are my resolving dos.(Don't do this when you can't take the risk these are purely from my computer instinct and is not a genius. If you are prepared not to put the blame on me then:

*maybe you can undo the delete process by pressing Ctrl+Z. This maybe applicable if recent.

*try using the search panel(Start->Search...) and type 'recycle bin' in my computer-everyone has different drives and different locations of programs and such.

*if that can't do try system restore (warning just do this if there are no other choice).

    1. Save all the files you recently had-they won't be deleted i promise

    2. prepare to cd or save in usb the program you need (i can't guarantee their safety.

    3. a. Start->Programs->Accessories->System Tools-> System Restore. (Mine is stored here if you can't find it then...

    b. Start->Search...->For files and folders->system restore

Change the (Look In:) section to my computer. Then Search

    4. open the program you'll see the window with choices and click on the 'restore my computer to an earlier time'

    5. click the bold date where you want to restore. follow instructions in that window. You'll do fine if you follow.

Tip: don't pick the latest date made-eventhough you remember the time and date you lost the bin, you don't know if you acquired something that infected your system on that date too. But don't also pick a date that was way last year-your system updates:programs, anti-virus etc. and will just make your system more vulnerable if your antivirus is not updated. Pick a bold date that is just a few jumps from the latest restore point.

    6. Done. I don't know if your recycle bin is there now.(I hope it is).

    If not then...

WARNING: you may be infected with virus if you don't know how the h**l did the recycle bin disappeared. Make sure you have an anti-virus, firewall, etc. If none, search with yahoo(will allow you to search by restricting some unprotected site for you and for them too),and pick a suitable (can also be free but legit) program. Pick reliable forum sites like CNET: http://forums.cnet.com among many others like here in answers.yahoo.com

Don't yet panic if you've tried this because I may be wrong too. Just search the net for more info. You can see a lot, even in microsoft windows website: http://www.microsoft.com/windows & http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com
