The return of King Kenny at Anfield, press conference before Merseyside war (Part 3)
(Continued from part 2…)
However, for Dalglish to end up victorious, the inclusion of world class midfielder and captain of Reds, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Steven-Gerrard-c34196, is very important.
In Dalglish’s first match back against Manchester United, his skipper Gerrard was slapped with a red card when he lunged at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-Carrick-c25282 studs up for a two footed tackle.
The passion for the Scotsman is in question again with the derby match near. For 4 seasons a derby side match in Merseyside has not ended without a red card, which raises speculation, who will be sent off the pitch this time.
For Dalglish it will be a test if he can control his men in all this excitement. Or the question can be whether Dalglish can control himself with the derby just around the corner and guide his men prudently till the end.
Dalglish lambasted referees saying even a simple gesture as ‘Good morning’ could be labeled offensive if it were to the match officials. He stated that there was a difference between being committed to a club and showing passion for it, for which referees
and officials need to make clear distinction and then maintain.
Dalglish said, “Nowadays if you say 'Good morning' to someone you've got a chance of getting a red card. It's a wee bit different to a few years ago. You can't blame players for being passionate and committed. They've been highly criticised for not being
passionate and committed. If there is a bit of understanding from the officials I'm sure it would ease things along a wee bit”.
Dalglish was coy when talking about the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ryan-Babel-c31971 saga. Earlier, Liverpool’s Dutch striker had been accused and punished for drawing and posting a picture of referee Howard Webb on Twitter after the Manchester United and Liverpool FA Cup fixture.
During the first minute of the match, Webb awarded the Red Devils with a penalty as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 box.
Regarding Babel, Dalglish commented saying his player had never really drawn the picture. He informed that the picture was rather forwarded. Babel is exceptionally well known on Twitter with his interesting and controversial posts now and then.
“Well we spoke about it before. He never drew it up. He just... I don't know, I might say the wrong word here. I'll just say he just forwarded it - is that right”?
When asked if he was getting familiarzed with Twitter, Dalglish said, “No, only when she asks me for a cup of tea”.
However, on a more serious note regarding Babel, Dalglish concluded, “No, Ryan has got to be responsible. If you're going to be on Twitter you've got to be responsible and you know the repercussions if you say or do something that's contentious. As I say,
I think it was a bit tongue in cheek and it wasn't his creation, but he's apologised unreservedly to the referee. For me, I'm sure the club will take some action I would have thought and that should be finished with it”.
