  1. To be quite honest, I have yet to meet a millionaire, or even billionaire, who is greedy, nasty, bitter, or tactless. However, I have met many poor people who are consumed by hate, and are greedy.

I am not saying that there are not greedy people who are rich, however, I have yet to meet them.

The cause of greed is jealousy combined with a desire to have more then others.

  2. It seems the more possessions a person has, the more he or she wants. In my opinion the rich can't help but be greedy.

  3. Neither are greedy its materialism that causes the demoralization or in other words greediness. Money is the root of all evil.  It's not the rich people or the poor its money, materialism.  We are programed to become greedy by materialism, because the truth is that we live for it we strive for it and in the end it does not comfort us it doesn't make us satisfy us we always want more but we are controlled but we strive to have materialism which causes us to loose sight of the truth and separate us from ourselves.

  4. poor, and rich both

  5. The poor are poor *because* the rich are rich. I've known both, and experience tells me that rich and poor people can be equally kind. However, rich people are often unconsciously greedy, confusing wants with needs.

  6. both r....becuz the poor want what the rich want and the rich want to get more money in some way....so no one is better than the other!

  7. definitely the rich, because once they find out that they have excess, then they never feel satisfied and the urge of having more will grow to make them feel that they want the whole world.

  8. I know this is probably wrong to say but the poor people I know have caused their own poorness and they are the greediest people I've ever known and as a result of their greed they have lost alot of help from people they have begged and borrowed money from and that's the truth.

  9. The rich are more greedy because once they have money, they only want more money and more material possessions. Its like keeping up with the Jones's. Once you have enough money to be considered "rich," you enter a new social circle where all eyes are on you, your neighbor, and then money become a point of competition-- who can get the most money.

Poor people are concerned with their basic needs and just getting by--making it through the day/week/etc... Acquiring possessions is simply not as important because those things don't make you happy. Family, love, and health make you happy; and knowing that you and your loved ones will make it through the day is enough.

  10. That is a very good question actually. But I think some of the answers submitted so far have missed an obvious fact: whether you are rich or poor is always comparative. I may not have as much money as some one like Bill Gates but I obviously am wealthier than say a homeless man in Chicago. Because of this whether you are rich or poor and thus whether you are greedy or not will depend on your viewpoint. Greed is said to be the difference between your pay check and your neighbor's. If you have enough money after bills to spend a little on yourself then you aren't really poor.

  11. I believe it's about the same. But they Target's (I'm not sure if it's Target or K-Mart) stopped allowing charity opperations have people ringing bells asking for money around Christmas time because the only people who donated money were the ones who needed the money.

  12. The rich are greedy for some unknown reason, and the poor are greedy for other reasons other than for money. Would you say that middle class is biased?

  13. the richer you become the greedier you get.  they want to hoard on things they don't even need and they don't give even if they have more than enough share for themselves.  the poor works only for his basic sustenance. it's not greed if they want to have more, it's just survival for the next meal.

  14. man is Greedy period, but the ability to pursue a better life whetherthe right or wrong way differs from people to people.

  15. I try to be a giver yet some of the poorest people I know have put me to shame. They have given sacrificially, while my giving still allows well beyond my necessities. I have more than I deserve, and my jiggling of bills as a single mother was nothing compared to watching your child go hungry and not be able to feed them. Americans are not the best people to ask for an answer. We are spoiled, and not grateful for what we do have.
