  1. The main thing is to make sure you open up to face the play.  I found that as the left side hitter, I will step with the right first.  That will open you up to the court.  I will use 3 steps just like my approach except with the opposite footing.  That makes the last step with the right.  It is a hard right step.  That gets you ready to take the step with the approach with your left foot.

As the right side hitter, I get off the net with my left foot to help me open up to the court.  I end up taking 4 smaller steps in order to make the last step the hard right step in order to stop my momentum and get ready to start the approach.

  2. always open up to the net so if your an outside hitter, turn to your left  and step with your right foot, then left(always look at the ball) and then right left. if your weakside, its the opposite and if your middle its right left right

  3. you open up to the inside of the court, then step back with your left, then right, and then get into ready position, and when you hit, it's a quick left right left jump and arm swing.  hope i helped, add details if you need any other stuff.

  4. all you do is back pedal. go right left right. and keep your eye on the ball at all times.
