I am going to order a Buffalo Sabres jersey and I haven't a clue as to my size. They only thing that I can compare the jersey to is the size that I wear in a T-shirt which is X-Large, I'm 5'8 and need to know if I should order a X-Large or a Large. I don't want a jersey where I have to roll the sleeves up or a jersey that goes past my groin and down to my knees and since I'm ordering on the NHL website and since they cost $100.00 I want that make sure that the jersey fits me right!

  1. Jersey sizes are MUCH larger than t-shirt sizes.  I'd suggest getting a large jersey.  X-L would be huge.  But your best bet is to try the size of the jersey first at a store before purchasing it online.

  2. if your using it on the ice bring ut shoulder pads and elbow pads make it fit about 1-2 inches below ur waist

  3. NHL.com has size charts based on your chest size.

The new sweaters do run a bit more form-fitting in the body and shoulders compared to the older models; the arms are also cut smaller.

With all this being said, I'd say go with the XL.  During the cooler months, it makes it easier to wear under a turtleneck.

  4. Height is not everything. Your physical size is also important. I am only 5'8", but I also am 225 lbs with a  48" chest so I need an xxl to fit my upper body.

  5. Jerseys are sized to fit over pads, so I would buy a large if I were you. XL if you're going to wear it to pick up.

However, you shouldn't order a jersey like that. Besides being ugly, it's a horrible team choice.

NHL.com is a bad place to buy one too... They're a lot cheaper from independent retailers.

  6. My kids bought me a L for mothers day - we exchanged it for a M, then a S!  I'm 5'8 and 165 pounds, my husband is 5'10, and about 180 pounds and found a L to be comfortable.  Your local sports shop should have a selection of jerseys - have a try before you decide.  I think even the jerseys sold to fans are designed for 'big strong boys in body armor', so keep that in mind.
