Question:

The right puppy for me?

I'm looking for a small puppy to care for. I can't have a very large dog or a very expensive dog. But I do want a dog that is family friendly, loving and very loyal. The biggest breed I could get would probably be a beagle.

It would help if you can give me a maintenance & price range.

  1. The right dog 4 u is a hot dog

  2. Hey i just did some looking around on the web and there is a thing called Kijiji, look it up the cheapest dog i saw was around 60$ for a chihuahua terrier mix, looks pretty cute!!! There are more on there though to!! Just give it a thought and go look it up!! Hope it helps!!

  3. I know someone with a **** zu and its a very loving lap dog. purebreeds are more expensive, and could have more health problems, leading to expensive care.

Go to your local animal shelter and look for a dog thats the right size, walk him once a day for a week and then decide if you would want to take him/her home.

My parents have like terrier/shitzu/jack russle/ mix and she is the sweetest and quietest dog I have ever met!

  4. I've had a beagle for 6 years. They are pretty easy to train(My older sister trained him when she was only 14!). They love to socialize and if you don't train them to be with other dogs then they will bark at other breeds all the time. Beagles are crazy about food. My dog knows when its time for him to eat. I feed him at 6:00 am and at 5:30, he's already in my bed. Beagles also shed A LOT! Most brushes didn't work for my beagle, but then we found the FURminator(furminator.com). Its also avaible at any pet store. Beagles love open areas and large backyards. Just make sure there are no rabbits. We had a bunny in our backyard who had bunnies and my dog ate two. Since you want a small dog, I would recommend the 13 in. beagle. There is also a 15 in. Overall, the beagle is a loving dog and makes a great pet.

  5. there is no such thing as a cheap dog - even if you get given one for free, they need food, bed, bowls, pet insurance, or plenty of spare money for unexpected vet bills and lots and lots of time, walks, training and attention!

Your dog will only be family friendly, loving and loyal if you put the work in and train it well, buy some good books and do your research first - I like the Jan Fennell books personally in regards to dog training.

  6. Go to the humane society.  Every dog is different it is not just the breed.  The people at rescue centers and the humane society knows every dog fisrt had, and can suggest the right one for you.  This way you won't pay over 125 and your saving a life.

  7. if you want a small puppy to care for then a dog shelter or rescue dogs place could be the right place to go.pedigree dogs do have many more health problems than a crossed type dog.but if you think of two calm, nice natured and easy to train dogs that are smaller and nice natured you wont get vet bills for a dog that's been in a fight.also female dogs are easier as they are home loving and loyal,a male dog is always wanting to be dominate over another male dog this can sometimes cause trouble.you have to train your pup (no matter how cute) to know you are boss from day one, that way they will be easier to train.remember if you buy a pup you have to think of the future, will you want to spey or neuter your pup.that can cost money.otherwise rescue a slightly older pup that has been done(but then you don't know what they have really been through and how that could change their personality).so unless you have the money for this op you should not buy a pup.don't forget a pup has to have 2 injections at about 8 and 12 weeks for immunizations against the awful things a dog could catch.an older dog if they have already had them just 1 a year as a booster at the right time.their is much to think about when buying a puppy but good luck.

  8. Maltese are medium sized, they are under $1,000. I'm not sure what your price range is but you're prolly looking to spend about $1,000 MAX on a dog. Chihuahua's are usually 2-6 lbs, very low maintenance, great for an apartment, low grooming, they can fit in your bag. They range from $100 to $800 more or less. Pomeranians are about 10 lbs give or take a few, and they have a medium maintenance, they are a little more expensive than chihuahuas but are good protectors and very  very fluffy and cute. Yorkies are usually yappers, they bark quite a bit and yip as well. Pretty much anything with long hair has a higher maintenance. Try your local craigslist.org or kijiji.com for dogs in your area, i'm sure you can find something there! good luck!

  9. get a japanese chin. they are very loyal dogs to their owner(s). i think they have a very cute face. we got ours from a pound. groom every month or two.

  10. An australian terrior is cute. It isnt expensive and loves to be around people.   Height: 10 to 11 inches.

    Size: Very Small.

    Weight: 12 to 14 pounds.

Also a chiuahuah . there are some cheep kinds

Pameranian- these are the best dogs you can get. They dont grow big and they are not expensive

You should look in pet stores to see all kinds or also google.

  11. Beagle all the way. i just put my beagle down a month ago. he was the best dog i ever had. i got him for free from the pound. Alot of rescue centers have them, 4 free.

  12. You can start looking in the local shelters for dogs or puppies.  There are  so many to choose from you won't know which one.  There are sad ones, happy ones, terrified ones, big ones, fat ones, skinny ones, and so on.  They are not free, but the cost is for the vet work that has already been done on them and will save you a lot of money in that direction.  If you will just go look your new friend can be waiting...hurry they don't have a long time to wait.

At the shelter they will be happy to answer all of your questions on the dogs available.

  13. smaller dpgs are actually usually more expensive.

ya..they eat less food but they always need more vet care

    so get a boxer

  14. i think jack russels are good, low maintenance, and they are suposetly " cheap to take care of and to get"
