His wee eyes are look a bit like the cat equivalent of a massive red-eye hangover morning. He's been like that for the last day or two. His behaviour, apart from being massively sleepy most of the time, is otherwise perfectly normal. BTW this is such a great forum for asking questions! I'm so glad I've found it. Thanks for reading.

  1. Sounds like an eye infection. Best take him to the vets or at least consult a vet.

  2. He may have an eye infection, and needs to be seen by your vet as soon as possible.  If an eye infection is left untreated, it can cause permanent blindness.  Until you can get him there, keep his eyes clear of the gunk by using a warm damp papertowel (one towel per eye) and GENTLY wipe the edges clear.  Do not rub on the eye itself, you can cause damage to the cornea.

  3. Could be conjunctivitis.  Could also be cat flu.  I took in two kittens a few years ago an they had runny eyes and it turned out to be cat flu.  Don't know if your kitten has had its vaccinations yet, but if not and it starts sneezing then take it to the vet immediately.  Cat flu can kill a kitten if not treated.  Mine were and survived  for  one16 years and the other 18 years.

  4. If his eyes are really red, then he may have conjunctivitis, which is an eye infection.  Your best bet would be to take him to the vet's and get him checked out as that could get very bad.
