Real Madrid academy graduate has continued to improve with his year on year performances and is considered an exciting prospect for the future at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The Real Madrid scout was fascinated with the qualities of the youngster and the way he had with a football. He stated that he was full of impudence and overflowing with talent at then, willing to spend an hour kicking the ball than to study for exams.
"We saw him at age 12, was children's first year. Had good conditions, we did some tests and we took him to a tournament," Sixto said as he recalled his first contact with Jese.
It was evident to the scout that he had to be incorporated in Real Madrid youth setup, but the problem was how to take a 12 year old from Canary Islands to the Spanish capital. However, after much deliberation with the parents of youthful player, a deal
was signed that saw him travel to Madrid.
"The problem was to take a 12-year-Canary Islands to Madrid. Speak with parents, they were convinced that no fooling them and signed a commitment to take you to Madrid a year later," Sixto said.

"It was not easy because he had offers from Espanyol, Mallorca ... Even Barcelona. I made a proposal to go to Barcelona and see The Farmhouse, but it was clear he wanted to come to Madrid," said Sixto.
Sixto also defends accusations levied on Jese for being cocky and emphasized that the 19-year-old has self-imposed lofty ambitions and puts in hard work on the training field to reach the goals he has set for himself.
He pointed towards the young starlet's work ethic and claimed that barring an injury, Sixto added that Rodriguez can rise through the ranks and has a bright future in front of him.
