  1. The only people who would make a statement like that are Environmentalists.

The rise if fuel costs make the cost of EVERYTHING go up. Also it is partially due to the fall of the value of the dollar, which is what oil is priced with, and that is good for other countries and exporters, but other than that it AGAIN makes imports more expensive.

The less money people have the less the can spend and that causes the economy to decline, and that is bad for society. Fewer jobs, and fewer people being able to buy stuff, and... Well you can see how that can just completely spiral out of control.

  2. I sincerely hope it benefits society in the long run. Higher fuel prices might bring about a return to public transportation and end suburban sprawl. It might also encourage people to walk to nearby locations instead of getting into their cars just to drive a block or two. I used to live a block from my daughter's elementary school. While I would walk to the school to meet her and then walk home with her, I would often see parents driving their children from the school to their homes that were just as far or even less.

  3. Yes, the higher the price of gas, the lower amount of drivers=less vehicular deaths.

Less cars on the road translates into tons of emissions not emitted=more people using public transportation.

Higher gas prices has already proved the mortality of big gas guzzlers=the car companies can't scrap these fast enough.

  4. NO! Very soon everyone is going to have to pay just to use the bathrooms in a airplane because fuel is so high!

  5. Disagree.I don`t know what society you are talking about ?The rising fuel prices are already having a ripple effect on the economy in the whole world.Who ever sad  that needs to be choked and brought back down to reality.

  6. absoulutly I think everthing is conected some way or another.

  7. the rise in fuel prices may bring a forced need for alternative fuels but none of it is good for the poor. Those who struggle to survive must not also pay for fuel but rising food cost.

It may eventually hep society but look at it this way there are tons of technologies that can be invested in such as wind and solar power. Like Cape Wind in Massachusetts. However Senator Kennedy voted against it. Many believe because he would have to View it and see it every day from his Martha Vineyards home. that's just a problem in Massachusetts.

We can find alternative fuels look at the air compressor engine that uses compressed air to fuel a car. the technoligy is already here. The rise in prices may just force us to start using it.

There is no need to tax it heavily like some Politicians want to do to get us off it. Because you know what will happen? We will continue to use it and then the Government and States will reap the Benefits from it while the rest of us struggle to make ends meet no money will go into alternative fuels and Projects like the big dig and frugal spending will continue until Citizen turn off their tv's go to their local state web sites and find out what they are spending things on. They will need to get more involved and write letters to enact change. Something we as the American Public fail to do on a day to day basis. That will bring change for alternative fuels not increase costs.

  8. No.

    Here's a question for you!

What good is the rising fuel prices bringing to society if any?

  9. The increase in fuel prices promotes conservation and reduces pollution which is good, but the sudden increase has  not given people time enough to adjust and has harmed many people and will probably crash the economy so what is happening now does more harm.
