The rise of David Ragan...?

Question

How many of you can actually say you saw this coming? The kid had trouble making races last year. Now he's on the verge of becoming a Chase-contender. The turn-around is amazing! I hope he gets his first win this season.

It truly is a "feel good" story, and will make an even better story if he does indeed get in the chase. I have noticed with this question and prior ones that there are a lot of us who are pulling for him to make it. Here's to hoping he has a great finish in the Fontana race.

Edit: I called him David Wreckum Ragan last season too. I feel bad now.

Well not really...Well kind of. But I believed in him all of last year so that has to count for something. And it was in 2006 he had trouble making races.

I hope he makes the chase and I can't wait till his first win!

I didn't see it coming this fast, but are you at all shocked?  The man drives the SIGNATURE car for Roush, so he's got to be good.  I'm rooting for him to get his first win as well!

I've always had a soft spot for David. So I'm glad to see how much he's improved this year. I'm hoping he gets his first win soon. I'm thinking he's going to pull off the 12th spot in the chase.

He didn't have trouble making races.  He had trouble racing.  lol  In any case I am sooooo pulling for him to take a spot in the chase.  He's a good guy which is odd for me considering I like the "bad boys" normally.  Go David!

yea... i was shocked too. he should of gotten his 1st win in cup by now ya know with a good team (roush) he's been with them for like... 3 years?!? anyways i hope he'll beat clint bowyer in the chase and i'm looking 2 see him win soon in the series as well as of the nationwide series

It's great to see the #6 being a contender! I pulled for his dad back in the 80's just because of his "underdog" status....great to see his kid making a name for himself. I am sure the first win is not far off.

Wow, I called him David Wreck 'em last year but he has become a lot more patient and consistent in 2008.  The kid can drive, now that he is managing his races better he should only get better each year.  Once the young JGR drivers do the same they will be perennial championship contenders and NOT just chase makers.

I totally did not see it coming, I was one of the ones on here who called him David Wreckum Ragan last yr..Man has this kid improved, he has totally surprised me, its great. I'd like to see him sneak in the chase and win a race this yr. If I were Jamie MacMurray I'd be worried.. Here comes David Ragan Moving Up, go get'um kid..

I sure didn't. He has done really well this year. Last year he hit everything except the lottery. He couldn't keep sheet metal on a car and I figured he was going to be the odd man out at Roush with the team limits coming. I know I'm pulling for him and moved him into my top 5.

I didn't really see it coming, but I'm happy for him. Judging by his interviews he just seems like a nice guy. I really hope his efforts and hard work get him a win this year.

David Ragan is doing much better this then last year but i would love to see win some day but if he don't win this year fore sure he will win next year
