  1. Well our leaders are obviously trying but it is just us not cooperating that's all! They implement subsidies to reduce our burden but unfortunate for them some of us don't even understand what they are trying to do.So,practically it is our fault and please don't blame the government. They are already struggling to save the left over money in our pockets! Why don't you think over my answer and then it may occur to you that i make a whole lot of sense than you!

  2. Petrol and major food companies are not owned by the government. So they all work on the global market not what Aussies want them to.

The politicians can't really do much and all we can do is play the blame game.

  3. I know that we have all been raised with an increasingly critical stance towards politics and, naturally, politicians. However, it is essential to understand that rarely is there only one factor to blame. The history of the global economy has always been in different states. The global economy is currently at a downfall and this is complemented by the rising food prices. This increase can be caused by a multitude of factors rather than simply political decisions - for example, heavy droughts, changes in demand patterns and simply less supply. Therefore, it is only natural that food prices are increasing. I doubt you are directly impacted by it - in terms of a life and death situation - considering you have internet. Besides, we grow to appreciate the previous food prices when we no longer help them.

I hope this helped you get a fuller picture. See you!

  4. that's true....!

politicians do no good to our society....

  5. What do you expect them to do? Snap thier fingers and poof gasoline will be 30 cents a gallon?

Gasoline and food prices are out of the politicians' hands. Supply and Demand determine prices. Putting a price ceiling on these items is far more disasterous than the current situation.

  6. Yea.. it happens everywhere, around the world dude..

  7. They cannot do anything

For Gas: Do you remember in 1979 when Jimmy Carter tried to put a price freeze on gas? OPEC stopped giving us oil and we could only get gas 4 days a week and we could not get much. We also had hour long waits for gas. So leave the gas alone

For Food: The government could increase the food stamp value, but that is about it.
