  1. Non-governmental Organizations are supposed to be not-for-profit do-good institutions like OXFAM and the AMERICAN RED CROSS. Unfortunately, in recent years ( quite a few recent years, actually ) many have too often adopted adopted Leftist, anti-American and even anti-Human Rights policies ( e.g. Human Rights organizations excoriate the U.S. and Israel ad nauseum but don't mention China, Darfur, Russia, etc ).

  2. The NGOs are there to fill up the gap left by the Governmental agencies. They are not for profit making. But unfortunately in India, NGOs have taken all the advantages of the system and have done little ground work. Only few NGOs are committed for the welfare of people. Many NGOs purchase products from market and sell as their own. Some NGOs present false photographs of different activities and suck the grants. Some other NGOs are run by Maoists, naxals, terrorists dacoits etc.
