  1. it is a tool. it saves me a lot of money by paying my bills online, checking availability of items and pricing them, and eventually buying them online, emails, etc.


  2. The computer is just a tool; a device to communicate with.  Too many believe its the be all to end all.   But its just a machine.  Take away its power source, and its nothing.

  3. The internet is computer mediated communication, it leads to increased social capital (community) but in the end everyone is really in their homes in isolation, the community is virtual and cannot be substantiated to the degree that actual communities can.

    In addition, people argue that reliance on computers have allowed people to dump some of their physical memory and have forgotten basic rules of math, spelling, grammar and traditional research skills. (plus people get on here and ask questions rather than going to a doctor, parent or professor)
