Reality is a subjective thing. If you believed in it it was real for you. Some of the Romans obviously did so it was real for them, but today we have only one God, so it is not real for us.

Don't be silly - of course he wasn't. In common with all gods, he was a figment of the believer's imagination.

Was that a question or a statement.  I know a number of Pagans who still follow the Olympian tradition, so they would say he was, as a polytheist I don't deny it, though he's not a God that I personally follow.
