The roster of 2011 FIVB Men’s Junior World Championship takes final shape – Volleyball news
Following the conclusion of the European Qualification Tournament, the grid of the sixteen teams for the 2011 Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) Men’s Junior World Championship has been completed. The 2011 FIVB Men’s Junior World Championship
is set to take place from August 1 to10 in Brazil. The beautiful capital of Brazil, Rio de Janeiro, will host the thrilling volleyball competition on its soil. The roster of the 2011 FIVB Junior World Championship was missing five teams, which finally joined
the group on Sunday through the Qualification Tournament.
In fact, a total of six slots were reserved for European teams in the 2011 FIVB Junior World Championship. Russia was the only team, which was already confirmed for the competition as they earned the qualification by winning the 2010 CEV Junior European
Championship.  The remaining five slots were filled by teams from Serbia, Spain, Bulgaria, Germany and Belgium.
A total of 18 teams were featured in the final round of the European Qualification Tournament, which ran from May 18 to the 22nd. Teams were divided into four pools.
Pool A – The Men’s Junior National Volleyball Team of Bulgaria was accompanied by teams from France, Poland, Denmark and Romania in Pool A. The Bulgaria team appeared in four matches and affirmed its ambition to play in the 2011 FIVB Junior
World Championship. They performed exquisitely well and launched their authority on the competitors in the group. Bulgarian men won all its matches and settled for the top position, which confirmed their participation in the mega international event.
Pool B – The Pool B of the Qualification Tournament promoted Serbia to the 2011 FIVB Men’s Junior World Championship. The Serbs had to fight the boys from Turkey, Belarus, Latvia and Montenegro, in order to earn the qualification. Serbia
finished in the top position and deserved the right to play at the 2011 FIVB Junior World Championship.
Pool C – Pool C was composed of four teams but only two made it through. Spain and Belgium proved to be better teams and eliminated the other two in the pool. Portugal and Slovakia couldn’t perform up-to-mark and were disqualified from the
tournament.
Pool D – Germany, Italy, Greece and Estonia were placed in Pool D of the European Qualification Tournament. Some scintillating performances were staged among Pool D teams. Germany and Italy were the top contenders in the group. Germany won
all its matches and climbed-up to the top position. The Italian team also put up a great effort but the Germans did not allow them to win. In the final match of the round, Germany crushed the Italian side in a five-set thriller and moved to the roster of the
2011 FIVB Junior World Championship.
