Question:

The rules of bringing high school apparel to college?

I've got a bunch of comfortable sweatshirts, sweatpants, and t-shirts that have my high school's name on it from various sports and activities. They are some of the most comfortable clothes I own. I'm entering as a freshman in college in a few days and I'm not sure if it would be a good idea to pack these being that they support a different school. Any opinions/experiences?

  1. There are no rules about it.  However, some people might laugh at you for wearing HS clothing.  You certainly don't want people to think you are some HS student visiting the campus.

If I were you, I would just buy new ones with your college name on them.

  2. You'll be fine. Take whatever you want. No one cares in college. I went to class in my pajamas every day.

  3. Nobody will care.  It's not as if your college is playing your high school.

  4. Do not bring anything with the words HIGH.  The names of the school by itself is fine.  If you are a hottie, you can wear what ever you want.

When I was in school, some of the girls wore the sweats and hoodies inside out.  This was done by the hottest of sorority girls and became very fashionable, including wearing boxer shorts (over their panties) as shorts.

  5. No one will care...just dont wear it to a college game

  6. eri is right............no big deal.....and you wont be the only one with their high school clothes

  7. no one gives a **** about what other people in college as long as your not going to parties in them, if you do, you deserve to be hazed

  8. In general no one cares.  It is a good conversation starter as others have mentioned.  The only negative I've heard is when people wear letter jackets from high school.

  9. Nobody will care.

If anything, it could be a good conversation starter.

"Oh you went to X? Do you know..." etc.

Collegiate apparel is very expensive - so I'd just stick with what you have. It's practical, comfortable, and people just don't mind.

Also, comfort reigns in college. :)
