  1. No, usually the player kicking the ball is deep in his own territory (fullback) and is trying to either clear the ball out or kick for touch and restart with a line out.  His mates can be in front of him on the kick.

  2. just to add, if you kick the ball, and it bounces a few times in the field, then goes out, then there will be  a line out for the other team there. If you're in your 22m and you kick it out, whether it bounces or not, then you have a lineout wherever it went out.

If you're not in your 22, and the ball goes straight out, then you have a lineout from where you kicked the ball.

  3. you can kick at any time but any teammate in front of you will be offside and can't play the ball. you should try to kick for touch to gain territory every time because if you don't most properly it will be a turnover and a counter attack on you team, but if you saw space kick for  it and chase it , or kick for the wingers to chase it. but if you out the 22meter line you cant kick straight to touch it will be a line out way back where you kicked it , so f you out the 22meter line and kicked the ball the ball must touch the ground before going out, and you can kick for goal by a drop kick which when the ball leaves your hand must touch the ground first then kick to goal.

  4. First off any player on the team can kick the ball forward at any time. Any players from either team regardless of weather or not the ball hit the ground can have possession of it. No you don't have to be ahead of your entire team to kick it...like i said anytime on the feild. If you kick it and it's out... then it's out. The whistle would just blow and you would start again!

  5. like everyone said above about the 22 meter line (if you're behind your own 22 and kick it out (bounce or not)... then its a line out for the other team at the ball's exit point.  if you are infront of your own 22 and kick it out - make sure it bounces first before exit.  if not, the line out will be where your foot kicked it... either way the line out goes to the other team.

if you are behind your team and kick the ball, you must sprint ahead of them... or they must retreat back to where you are... to put them back onsides.  obviously its easier for you to run up.  So, if you're behind poeple and kick the ball, thye are automatically offsides unitl either they retreat or you run ahead of them.

if youa re awarded a penalty and you kick it into touch (out of bounds) you retain possession during the line-out.  Unless you are awarded a "free" kick and then you need it to stay in bounds.

i'm sure there are other rules but im a lock and i have a terrible foot and my team has forbidden me to kick the ball... EVER... under any circumstance!!  ha ha  I've been playing 15 years and still dont know all the minute small detail rules!
