Question:

The safety point for a closed head injury?

My mother was recently in a car accident where her skull was fractured and there was major swelling. I have yet to actually see her so I can not attest to how bad the injury actually is, but she was in the hospital for 4 days.

It has been 3 days since she has been home and she is extremely afraid to sleep out of the fear of something happening (the head injury)

so you medical experts, are her concerns valid?

  1. As stated above I am no doctor but yes her fears are real and not to alarm you but you need to keep an eye on her, yes they released her but at the same time this was a head injury so anything could happen....

  2. I'm not a doctor, but I'd imagine she'd be ok.... The hospital would not have discharged her if there was any risk involved....  And besides are you telling me she has been up for 3 days straight?????  Tell her to get some sleep, lmao....

  3. The symptoms of sleep deprivation and head injuries are similar, so there is a very serious risk that, if she does not sleep and something is wrong, the doctors will not know, because they will not be able to tell whether it is from the sleep deprivation or from the injury.
