The sales and clearance month in Munich !!?

Hey there .. I'm going to Munich this summer (August 2008) and I was wondering about the sales and clearances period during this month ..Heard that, unlike other counties, the sales are times in August !! Is this true??

yes, there's no 'official' summer sale anymore but shops still have sales. In Munich the 'SSV' (summer sale) started on 30th July last year.

The sales in Germany used to be at a certain two weeks in summer and two weeks in winter. But a few years ago they passed some sort of legislation abolishing uniform sales/clearance periods and now it depends on the shops themselves when they decide to mark their prices down. By August you should find a lot of good offers in the sales. Have fun shopping!
