next election?.......no way-------i dont care who gets elected, we'll be paying more and getting less--period. meanwhile our bridges will collapse, levees will break, schools decay,......and we'll get excuses, and more debt.

no kidding i don't want these people to handle my heath care. its  bad enough that they're trying to manage my retirement through social security

China things are simply cheaper and America doesnt want to pay more for better. They want cheaper for less. Ya know? They say American made items will most likely take over in 2010- but i highly doubt that.

This is not going to change. I'm guessing that the reason there is such confusion over those salmonella tomatoes is because that is a big part of the economy of Mexico. I'm sure they had a nice little talk with the U.S. government that said if you blame Mexico for the salmonella, we will stop the shipment of oil to the U.S. Mexico is the second largest supplier of our oil.

Your comment about Social Security being not the sole source is a radical understatement of what to expect from Social Security.   I see a day when only "disabled" citizens will be beneficiaries under the national retirement system.  So the productive citizens who worked into their 60s will just take nothing.  I do not share your concern about Mexico and China.  These two countries have driven down consumer prices compared to prices if there was no Mexico and no China.
