The science behind invisible ink?

Question

I need to konw why invisible ink works? For the recipie using lemon juice and heat or the one where you take lemon juice an write ,add salt and then color over it with a wax crayon why does the message appear. I need the specific chemistry reasons about the acids and bases.. ANy other ways to make invisible ink?
