Question:

The scientist and the frog?

A scientist was doing an experiment with a frog.

After spending considerable time training the frog to obey his verbal, "Jump" command, he ordered the frog to jump. The frog was able to jump 4 feet, and the scientist recorded it in his notebook.

The scientist cut off one of the frog's legs, and again told the frog to jump. The frog jumped 3 feet, and the scientist recorded, "A frog with only 3 legs can jump 3 feet."

The scientist repeated his experiment, cutting off another leg and determined that a two-legged frog jumped two feet, and a frog with only a single leg can manage to jump one foot.

Finally, the scientist cut off the frog's last leg, and ordered the frog to jump again, but the legless frog just sat there doing nothing. Again he ordered the frog to jump, but the frog did not move.

The scientist sighed and made a note in his book. "It would seem," he wrote, "that cutting off all of a frog's legs renders it deaf."
