Question:

The sclera (whites of my eyes) have turned yellow?

I have smoked cigarrettes and marijuana for about 3 years on a regular basis and im concerned thats whats caused this yellowing of my eyes. Also ive noticed when i wake up its not as bad, but when i drink alcohol it gets really bad. Ive tried eye drops and optrex eye wash but nothing works.

Also in my left eye theres a stronge tinge like brown that wasnt there before and in my right eye now too but not as bad - is this a build up of toxins of something and what can be done??

I know jaundice causes yellowing of the eyes but my urine is only yellow if i dont drink no water. That is another thing, there was a period of time i drank little water and alot of coke and tea. Could that be it, im just thinking of stuff that could cause it.

Please only serious answers, can someone help me with a solution or things i can do to make my eyes white again as im worried there gonna be like this forever : (. I have a appointment to see the doctor but im not back from holiday until next month. HELP

  1. Classic case of "yellow jaundice." Don't worry though, some people have been known to survive this condition. Good luck.

  2. SEE A DOCTOR!!!!!!!  i have no idea what's wrong, but it's probably from the stupid Marijuana and smoking!!!!!!! You need to break these habits soon, before something more serious happens, something possibly fatal!!!!

  3. jaundice is technically possible, and you should still probably see a doc.

but MOST of the time MOST people who complain of yellowing eyes do NOT have jaundice.  they have PINGUECULA:

people with enough liver problems to cause jaundice usually have other, more serious symptoms.  if you feel great and just have yellow eyes, then IMO jaundice is improbable.  more likely pinguecula.

  4. It is called jaundice, I had it when I was born.  I don't quite know which one but either your kidneys or your liver, I think it's the liver isn't doing its job properly.  I would lay off the drinking and smoking and go to the doctor, they will be able to fix you up.

  5. i've heard that this is jaundice,

but i've also heard jaundice can come from

    either lung or liver problems.

definitely lay off the alcohol/cigarettes/marijuana (which is twice as bad for your body than cigarettes.

    especially your liver

  6. Get to a doctor and find out for sure but I'd say your liver is having a problem.  If you are jaundiced like that you do have something wrong.  Till your doctor tells yo otherwise, lay off the weed, the booze and cut back as much as possible on the smokes.  Get it checked out though before you have cirrhosis.
