The shell of the eggs of my ringneck dove is not smooth.Why? Could this be a reason for the eggs' infertility?

Like chicken eggs, variation in color and texture may vary.  Eggs shells are made up of primarily calcium, which can have defects and not necessarily effect the fetus inside.  These are just abnormal calcium deposits created in-vitro.  They should be ok.  If the egg is in fact infertile by means of no mate, than dont worry about it. Be sure your dove is getting a varied diet of grains and seeds and some vegetable matter if accepted, like dark leafy green and even some ground up oyster shell to aid in digestion and calcium intake. However, if you are not breeding you dove with a mate, you may want to get "Check Drops" from the vet to ensure she stops laying, laying eggs can take a lot out of your bird, especially if she lays they regularly, or yuo can put "egg" decoys in her nest or at the bottom of her cage to prevent her from laying more.  Good luck.
