The sims 2 apartment life doesn't work?

I've downloaded it and i installed it. But when i start the game it says:

Failed to enumerate any DirectX 9 compatible graphics adapters in this system!

I don't know what to do know. I've already downloaded directx 9. Can anyone help me?

looking at your pc specs,i'm concern about your memory and hard disk space.

read the Readme file in your game again.updating your video card might help.

A lot of people are having trouble installing the exact same game, I'm buying it tommorow and I'm really hoping I don't have trouble installing it. Try looking on the message boards (bbs) of this website http://thesims2.ea.com/

There is a technical support part that help with installing all of the games. Good luck x
