there is no such thing as a Chittukkuruvi bird.

No it is not true.  The chittukkuruvi is any one of many species of sparrows.  The name specifically refers to the songs of small birds and not the birds themselves, and they are not in danger as long as there are gardens, parks and forests for them to live in.
