The so called "fat disease?"?

So a couple months ago I was at school and I see one of the students and I notice that he is really fat, I was kind of shocked. Why? Because the day before he wasn't fat AT ALL! So I just let it slide and moved on. Then I started hearing kids ALL OVER SCHOOL talking about how fat this kid got all of a sudden. Then one day he comes BACK to school and he was skinny again. My friends referred to it as "the fat disease" because they don't know what it was either. Does anybody know the name of this disease and how/why you get it?

I've never heard of that. Was it like 10 lbs. or 50 lbs.? How long was he fat? a week or closer to a month? You should befriend the kid and eventually he may tell you. Maybe he was going through a growing spurt and he grew a couple of inches and thinned out.
