The sound on my computer doesn't work?

Sorry, I'm not a great computer person but I have the volume bar on my computer turned to max...I have the speakers connected...Why would the sound not work?

Install the drivers.If you are not sure that they are installed or not check by right clicking on my computer then manage -device manager and on the right go under the tab sound,video and game controllers they should appear.Usually the name is realtek or creative depending on who is the manufacturer of your sound card.If there are some exclamation marks or X's then you should install the drivers.

   Also make sure that your sound card is well fitted in the motherboard because I had the same problem and this was the cause.

most likely realtek ac'97

to check install driver detective and scan your computer

look for the one that's got audio next to it and google what it says and download that driver
