The sound the computer makes when a near by phone is about to ring

here latley my computer makes that sound for no reason....why???

I've intermittently experienced this also, but not really sure the reasoning, it's happened to me in the car also, I think it has to do with the signal that a (or maybe all) phone company uses as an initiation for a phone call, to induce the phone to ring. I've just moved my phone away from my speakers and radio and it's helped a lot.

    I know that speaker wire and the associated audio systems are very susceptible to electromagnetic interference. If you have to many cables or wires running near your speakers or their wire it can cause issues in sound quality and intermittent noises.

  3. It is caused by the speakers getting interference from a nearby phone's signal.  There's not much you could do except move any cell phones away from the speakers. :)
