The sound you hear when piercing cartilage- what is it exactly?

I've always called it a "pop" but I've heard a few people call it a "crack"- so it made me think.

What exactly is this noise?

yeah, you'd think its like a crunch. but it sounds just like when you get your other parts of your ear peirced.

it sounds like a stapler i got it done yesterday and it didnt even hurt!  i am 13
