1. John

  2. John Lennon closely followed by George

  3. I like almost all of John Lennon's solo work, including "Wedding Album" and his other experimental stuff with Yoko. But my favourite solo Beatle album is Ringo's "Ringo".

  4. I liked George Harrison's work the most.

I wonder if anyone will say Ringo...

  5. Paul McCartney because he wrote the most songs, even after the beatles' successful career. In fact, he's still going!

  6. Tough question!

Ringo is the 'funniest' solo artist...some great 'cute' songs.

Paul - a lot of classic solo songs.

John - need I say more?

But my favorite has to be George - more mystical perhaps? great videos?

  7. Mr. Lennon

  8. Pete Best (just kidding).....Paul

  9. John Lennon . :)

  10. Paul McCartney, of course. He was the most productive after the Beatles broke up.

  11. John Lennon, absolutely.

  12. George Harrison

His songs in the Beatles were masterpieces "Here Comes the Sun", and even better, "within you without you"

then when he did his solo work it was all amazing.songs like "Marwa Blues" and "Isn't it a Pity" are among my favorites, but all of them are great

there is not one song of his that I don't like...=)

and his attitude was fantastic. He had a great sense of humor and sarcasm, and seems like he'd be a fun guy to hang out with....

    RIP

  13. Paul McCartney!

  14. Paul McCartney

  15. Paul ever so slightly over John. It's just that Ram and McCartney particularly are so darn good.

As far as shining in the Beatles I guess I would say John, but it is hard for me to separate Lennon and McCartney with them being a team. They found a way to bring out each other's strengths and cancel out the weaknesses. Although, for the places where his songs rate in my sort of Pantheon of Beatles tunes George has certainly written a few of my favorites. I love that story where Sinatra said that Something was the best song Lennon/McCartney ever wrote. As good as a lot of the solo work was they group was much greater than the sum of it's parts.

(the punch line is that George wrote it in case anyone reading doesn't know).

  16. Paul!
