  1. Assuming that your given specific gravities are correct,

    Let;

    M = Volume of the blend

    G = volume of the gasoline

    K = volume of the kerosene

    (1). M = G + K

    (2). 0.78M = 0.70G + 0.82 K

    (3). G/K = C;

    Multiplying Eq. (1) by 0.78

    (4). 0.78M = 0.78G + 0.78K

    Subtracting Eq.(2) from (4);

    0 = 0.08G -0.04K

    0.08G = 0.04K

    C = G/K = 0.04/0.08 = 1/2
