The speed is 54MB.. is that good for gaming online??

im ordering a usb wifi thing off e-bay the speed is 54mb is that good or what should i do for online gaming

If your meaning 54mb/sec then that is very fast, however it is probably going to be restricted by the bandwith of whatever your internet is, which could only be 2mb/sec, although it is probably around 8.

The router you are ordering just passes traffic. If you are gaming on your local network with that device, then that is more than sufficient. If you are talking about going online to game with other people, then it has more to do with your Internet connection speed. If your upload is around 768KB or higher, than you should be fine.

When you game online it's more of a latency issue than total Internet connection speed. You can have a screaming fast Internet connection, but if your contact with the server is bad (poor latency), then your experience online is going to be choppy.
