  1. i don't know,  i'm a cheerleader/ ballet dancer and i can't do the splits either. I am starting to do stretches on my hamstrings ( to help loosen them ) and toe touches. i hope this helps you!

  2. There are some people who are never able to do the splits, including one of the boys on my brothers' gymnastics team. Also, by 17 you're body is a solid structure which impacts your flexibility.

  3. I wasn't able to do the splits before and now I can do them. Whoever told you that lied. It can also depend on body type. It can be harder to be flexible if you're like Shawn Johnson (http://www.gymnasticsmedia.com/Portals/9...

and easier if you're  more finesse type like Nastia Liukin (http://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/015n...

  4. a few years ago i learned how to do the splits in one night i was spending the night at my aunts house and i kept pushing myself lower and lower and i finally did it and i just kept on doing it so i wouldn't forget but then one summer i stopped and i couldn't do it since :( well i say don't give up and good luck!  :)

  5. Practice makes perfect.

I used to be able to do the splits. However as I have not kept up with the practice I can only almost do them now. Each day you practice you should improve.

    Dont forget to warm up!

Hope this helps. Good luck with learning to do the splits x

  6. We all have the ability to do the splits just for some its easier.. as the ligaments keep the ball & socket hip joint "together" they can be stretched to allow increased movement in the joint. By stretching you also lengthen the tendons attaching the muscle to the bone and thus sustaining a better stretch. Warm the muscles up for at least 15 minutes before trying full stretch - remember to shake out after.

  7. with regular stretching i dont see why not.

  8. ya you can, that's a myth....

I'm do gymnastics and am able to do da!

    to get more flexible:

-sit on the flor with your legs spread as much as you can and touch your toes!

-hold this for 20 seconds and repeat for as many times as you like throughout the day.....

    good luck hun!
