The standby keeps flashing but the power doesn't...

Question

I know power is getting to the unit but doesn't turn on.  I'm not sure how to dismatle the set but am willing if it will help.  The set was made in august of 2004?  any help would be greatTV shut off or no apparant reason. When I try to turn it on, you can here it trying 3 or 4 times but not actually coming on. Just a clicking from the back.
