What natural resources, such as forests, minerals, or water-power, were once found in the state of Oregon but have either completely or almost completely disappeared over time??

  2. Oregon is still largely untouched from an environmental standpoint.  A lot of forest has been cut down, but virtually none of it from protected lands anymore - most of it from private land where the trees are re-planted.

  4. They haven't completely disappeared but the stock has certainly diminished: Salmon.

    Also, despite popular myth Oregon's pristine scenery and air quality have taken quite a hit over the years mostly due to growth (read: more cars) in large urban areas.

  5. Oak Groves nearly disappeared from the state, but in the last 10 to 15 years, efforts have been made to restore those specific species of trees. The trillium is also an endangered plant.  There are a number of endangered/threatened species like the Northern Spotted Owl, the marbled murrelet, and several types of salmon.
