  1. to save yourself trouble and possible leaks, just replace it. I'm assuming it's your hose bib. IF you know how to sauter, just go buy a new one, they are 25 bucks or so, sauter the old one off, sand it, flux it and throw the new one on. Good luck.


  2. Are you able to put the stem back in and tighten the nut to hold it in place?  If not, you will need to replace the faucet - at least that would be the easiest and probably cheapest solution.

  3. if it comes out then it sounds like it's missing a packing nut or bonnet nut, you will probably have to replace it. Depending on type is how tedious it is to replace

  4. If you are talking about the stem from a frost less valve, like a Woodford valve, the problem is you have pulled the football looking seal past the stop. It can be replaced by taking it to a local plumbing shop and ask for replacement parts.
