  1. Analysis. You might mention the artist's style/movement in the description or even at the end, in the judgment/conclusion, but the actual analysis would take step in... well, analysis :p the second step.


  2. Art historians now put things into context. What were the social, philosophical, technological and historical influences taking place at the time the artists was working.

  3. Art Historians aren't in the business of interpretation or judgement. They do research papers and visual analyses.
