Do you believe people look at stereotypes to see how they should act and behave, especially people 21 and under, thus keeping alive the stereotype and creating a catch 22?

Thoughts? Opinions?

Agree/Disagree and why?

  1. I dont really get your question

  2. I'm Asian, and I have some Asian friends. We never really try to act more asian than we already are. We have things that go with our culture, that we keep in practice - but we don't try harder to fit into a stereotype, no.

That said, white people don't do this either. Not that I've seen. I mean, if you grow up in the southern United States - you're going to pick up obvious traits that show where you're from, but I doubt the people who get the "southern hick" stereotype are going to try harder to fit in with it.

Same thing with blacks and hispanics. I'm sure things can influence people as to their race or background, but I think it's rare that someone would try to be more of a stereotype. No matter what age they are. I know a white girl who's 12 and if anything, she tries her hardest to gravitate away from being the normal white 12 year old girl now a days.

tl;dr - I'm not too sure. I've never witnessed it myself, that's for sure.

  3. I think this is very true. I used to want to be emo because of the whole "scene" thing
