  1. I think the most critical thing you can do is to abandon this idea that you know as much as you do. You will soon learn to re-evaluate what you consider to be knowledge. Be prepared to do this with a lot of your existing assumptions.

  2. Any philosophy that is not "Critical".

First read Popper's  book Objective knowledge(and his chapter 10-Emancipation through knowledge-in his "In search of a better world").

  3. Student of navigation > practitioner of navigation. A practitioner is already engaged. Wordplaying "study of philosophy" doesn't help the potential philosopher at all! Instead look at the issue of failure. If the student of navigation fails to understand is "X"; if the practitioner of navigation fails to understand is "Y". X = try again. Y = failure.

Now, the failure of a philosopher has consequences for philosophy. What is it? It is this: the failure to attract potential philosophers. But further, which is a bit more difficult to conceive, the failure of a philosopher may bring about immediate harm to potential philosophers. Thus, study of certain prohibited subjects is the real subject of your question...

What subjects are prohibited to the students that you imply are potential philosophers?
