  1. I am not sure what you are asking. However there are lots of solar power systems that are approved by the USDA. And like said above there are times that only hydro can provide power because there is no sun or wind.

    However, That is why there are USDA approved grid tie systems. It allows your friends from all over the world to supply you with power while the sun is not shining at your house.


  2. The is nothing supreme about it if the sun doesn't shine you don't have power.  If you are trying to get off the grid consider a balanced approach since all "natural" sources are subject to outages.

    Probably the best, as far as reliability, renewable is geothermal but it's expensive and not always practical.

    But then again if it's a dairy farm collect the poo and run off of methane.  Cows gotta poo.

  3. Solar power is cheap, clean, and convenient.  It stores power in a battery system to keep you in power when the sun is not shining.
