The surface of my leather sofa has become "sticky" and transfers to clothing. Tried leather cleaners. Help!?

  1. This sounds as though the finish on the leather has broken down.  This can be casued by many things including the use of incorrect care products, body oils, grease etc. etc.  There may be a remedy depending on what type of leather finish you have, the age, what has caused the problem etc.  You would be better to contact a qualified leather technician who would be able to advise you correctly


  2. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it sounds like your "Leather" sofa may be "Vinyl."  Leather doesn't usually come off like that.  

  3. It's not leather.  Real leather won't do that.  Sounds like it is a type of pliable plastic, made to look like leather.  Some people call it "pleather".  And this is what pleather does when it becomes old.
