The surge in Iraq is working?

Sure, like putting scotch tape on a broken water line... except the tape can be likened to US soldiers and there is a finite supply. Stops the flooding for a little while. Killing civilians doesn't make for a lasting peace, or can someone convince me otherwise?

A million Iraqis have died in the past five years, that is nothing for the US to be proud of.

In every war there is sacrifice of life.  As much as one disapproves of war, at times it is necessary to maintain or achieve peace.  There is factual evidence the U.S. is WINNING the war in Iraq.  To pull our troops out anytime soon would be completely disastrous to the whole region and a disservice to our troops and our country as well.  It is ignorant to talk of peace when one has no concept of war.  There are civilians lost in every war, but this is the price of freedom.  The U.S. military lost 250,000 troops during WWII for our many freedoms that we enjoy today.  Had we not went to war, we would be speaking German right now.  Freedom is not free my friend.  Let us stay the course and establish a democracy in Iraq, and let the Iraqi people enjoy and understand what we cherish most.  FREEDOM.

The decrease in violence is also helped by the fact that Iraqi neighborhoods are now completely segregated - into Suni and Shia only.  

Which isn't something to be proud of.

Its the Terrorists that kill innocent civilians they put bombs in stores and parks.    Our soldiers are the ones who trained the Iraqi soldiers to fight against the Taliban and Al Qaeda.    Why you think this is just beyond the reality of the situation.   Maybe you watch too many movies,  that one movie by M.Moore was proved to a bunch of lies, google it there is a TON of information online about his corrupted interpretations

So let me get this right. The surge has helped the violence in Iraq go down a lot. US troop deaths have gone down a lot. Every day live in Iraq for the civilians is getting better. And you're mad about the surge?



And tell me please when was the last time US troops killed any civilians. Who do you think has killed more civilians? The US military, or the terrorists who kill civilians ON PURPOSE!!!!!!!!!
