  1. I think is from Milano.

    Good Luck

  2. try to go to the site gens.labo there it will show you the dinstribution of that surname

or go to the site www.cognomiitaliani.org there maybe you will find the meaning of that sourname

  3. generally plural surname, like Graffini (that in english would be Graffinis), come from Northern Italy, while singular surname, such as for exemple Graffino, (or Graffini in English) come from the South of Italy. In the past in Southern Italy the man (the father or grandfather) was considered more important and he was representative of all his family, so the members of his family were called with the father'singular name (Graffino's son/wife, he's a Graffino). In Northern Italy it was different, so that people referred to the family with the plural name (he is Graffini son). Then this tradition has evolved in our current italian surnames. Remember that the final "i" of a name in italian is similar to the final "s" of a name in english, that makes it a plural. So, maybe your grandmather's surname come from the North, beacuase it's plural.. but in fact it's not a rule.

  4. It sounded like sicilian !
