The swimming pool: when the 3-dial valve is turned to 4, should there be movements within the skimmer?

Question

i have water flow in the engine, but no movement in skimmer and i cant detect any movement into the pool

can anyone tell me if it's normal?

ps. if not, then what might be wrong?

well if you have an attached spa,maybe the valves are in spa position?..if not,perhaps this page will help: http://www.swimming-pool-information.com...
