The tale of the Copthorne Solway Park Open 2010
The Copthorne Solway Park open was held last Sunday at the Mahunga golf club. The event was a four-ball tournament while the Greenaway Cup competition is said to be decided on Saturday.
According to leader board statistics, the finest scores are said to be displayed by the two golfers, Noelene Stevenson and Kevin Hunter. They carded a nett 69 at the third round of the event that was a stroke better than the golfers Bev Todd and Maurice
O'Reilly, Heather and Bill Ousey and Ngaire and Joe Graham respectively. This was stated after reviewing the 138 nett score from the best two rounds.
For those who were not implicated in Saturday’s Greenaway Cup, they were competing in the medal round. Comparing the first and second groups that appeared, the first group managed to card a 69 and a 71 nett while the second group attained a 63 and a 68 nett.
The David O'Reilly, Lance Duckett and Greg Granich’s group were thus seen rather weak as compared to the group of Arona Solomon, Graham Duckett and Nikaiya Graham on Saturday.
On Sunday, the paramount gross score was carded by Matthew Pegg and Colin Trigell after a 66. From those that were competing at the nett competitions, Brian Chappell and Kevin Hunter and Layton Kawana and Phillip Granich carded a 59 in nett.
Scooting one shot behind the best gross scorers, stood the pairs of Martin Andrew and Geoff Peck, with the pairings of Darryl Coley and Greg Granich as well as Graeme d**k and Adam Ross, Frank Martin and Whana Rohe, Alan Eagle and Allan Biel and Harley and
Neville Biel all of whom collected a nett score of 61.
